To ensure salmon fillets do not stick to either a charcoal or gas BBQ grill, get the grill rack really hot. Once it is hot, brush olive oil over the gas or charcoal grill rack and over both sides of the salmon fillets. Season the salmon and grill on mediumwith the lid closed for about 15 minutes, checking about every 5 minutes for flare-ups, etc. Your salmon is done when it flakes with a fork.
You can’t beat fresh salmon grilled on cedar planks using your gas or charcoal barbecue grill. Soak the planks fully submerged in fresh, clean, warm water for at least 1 hour. Remove the plank from the water and brush with oil. Brush the salmon with oil or maple syrup, depending on the flavor you want, place the salmon on the cedar plank with the skin-side down, and add spices. Place the cedar planks directly on the grids of your pre-heated charcoal or gas barbecue grill and grill over medium heat for about 20 minutes, checking every 5 minutes. The planks add an earthy, sweet, subtle flavor to the salmon.
Enjoy grilled salmon anywhere with a portable gas barbecue grill.
When grilling on a charcoal barbecue grill, add wood chips for even more smoke flavor. Hickory is best for grilling pork and steak. Use oak, cherry, or alder when grilling chicken and fish.
Spice it up! Whether grilling on a charcoal or gas BBQ Grill, choose the freshest spices available for the best tasting grilled foods. Use those spices sparingly though to enjoy the true flavor of the foods you are grilling.
Grilled foods are better for you and offer a wider variety of flavors. Choose the gas or charcoal grill that is right for you and begin the great taste adventure!
Steaks just taste better when they have been grilled on a gas or charcoal barbecue grill. Grilling brings out the great natural flavor of a steak. For the most flavor, grill your steak to rare and medium-rare doneness—that’s 120° to 140° F (150° F for medium and 160° F for well-done). Use an instant-read meat thermometer and position the probe into the thickest part of the meat (usually the center) for the most accurate reading.
When grilling a large cut of meat like a 14 to 16 ounce t-bone steak on a gas or charcoal barbecue grill, grill it for about 8 minutes on each side using tongs to turn it over just once. Avoid piercing your steak when turning and cutting into your steak to check for doneness to avoid losing any of those luscious juices created by grilling on either a gas or charcoal BBQ grill.

Grilling and barbecuing are a great way to spend time with family and friends, but add an outdoor fireplace for roasting marshmallows afterward and you will really liven up the party! Extend your fun late into the evening with the warmth and light of an outdoor fireplace.
Enjoy your portable outdoor fireplace anywhere: camping, on picnics, at the park, at family gatherings, at block parties, when tail-gating, and don’t forget your own back yard. The possibilities are endless with a lightweight, portable outdoor fireplace. It even has folding legs and comes with a carrying case for added convenience.
Outdoor firebowls and firepits beautiful and decorative designs add a unique accent to your patio or backyard décor. Firebowls and outdoor fireplaces also make excellent conversation pieces, and there’s nothing quite like an evening conversation while gathered around a firepit’s warm glow.
Wood-burning outdoor fire pits and fire bowls can be conveniently located in a variety of areas and are easily moved to accommodate different styles of entertaining. They can be placed on the patio when entertaining a few friends; or they can be placed in the yard to be enjoyed by a larger group of guests. After a backyard cookout, enjoy roasting marshmallows over an outdoor firepit or firebowl.
Decorative outdoor fireplaces with stainless steel bowls have the added advantage of being more rust-resistant. Stainless steel does not “rust” like non-stainless steel. If you do encounter red rust on your stainless steel outdoor fireplace, it is usually due to rusting iron particles that have contaminated the surface of your outdoor fireplace. “Pickling paste” can be used to remove the rusting iron particles.
To prevent this type of “rust” from developing on your stainless steel outdoor fireplace, follow these simple steps:
- Remove all dirt and ashes from your completely cooled stainless steel firebowl after each use.
- Thoroughly rinse the soap off the stainless steel bowl after cleaning.
- Completely dry the stainless steel firebowl with a soft lint-free towel. We recommend the old-fashioned dish towel that resembles an over-sized handkerchief.
Outdoor fireplaces made from non-stainless steel are coated with a special finish prior to painting in order to prevent rust. However, this finish may deteriorate with use and your outdoor fireplace may rust over time.
To help prevent rust from developing, use a high quality cover to protect your outdoor fireplace from the elements. Consult your owner’s manual for optimal cleaning and maintenance instructions, but after cleaning, thoroughly rinse with water and completely dry the surfaces of the outdoor fireplace to prevent rust. Allow the fire to die out naturally because using water to extinguish the fire is not only dangerous, it causes damage to the unit which increases the chances of rust. In addition, the use of manufactured wood logs (due to their chemical make-up) may cause faster deterioration than the use of natural wood.
Outdoor fireplaces should be cleaned and inspected on a regular basis. All inspections and cleaning should be done when the fire is out and the outdoor fireplace is cold to the touch. Do NOT use oven cleaners or clean any parts of your outdoor fireplace in a self-cleaning as this will damage the product.
Prior to use, check the handles to make sure they are secure. Check the components for any signs of damage or rust. If there is damage to any component, do NOT operate until the outdoor fireplace until repairs have been made. If rust should occur, gently remove rust from the affected area and re-coat your outdoor fireplace with a fire resistant finish.
After use and when the unit has completely cooled, remove the ashes and wipe the surfaces of your outdoor fireplace with baking soda or a mild dishwashing detergent. Use a citrus-based degreaser and a nylon scrubbing brush on stubborn areas. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely in order to prevent rust from developing. Remove any creosote build-up with a chimney cleaning product.
An outdoor fireplace adds a certain warmth and mystique to your patio. It creates visions of romantic evenings spent in quiet conversation while enjoying the fireplace’s warm glow. Outdoor fireplaces are now more affordable and come in appealing, modern designs. Both trendy outdoor firebowls and classic outdoor fireplaces can safely burn either real wood or manufactured wood logs; although the chemical make-up of manufactured wood logs may cause quicker deterioration and rusting than normal wood logs.
